President John Dramani Mahama has announced that a $150 million intervention under the World Bank-supported West Africa Coastal Areas Management Program (WACA) will soon be rolled out.
The move is aimed to address coastal erosion and tidal wave destruction in vulnerable communities across the Volta Region, following his visit to affected areas in Fuveme.
The President assured residents that the project, currently at the design stage, will soon move into implementation, including the construction of sea defence systems, groynes, and ecosystem restoration measures such as coconut tree and mangrove planting.
