The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced that parts of the Accra East Region will experience a power outage following a fire outbreak at the Akosombo substation.
According to ECG, the incident has reduced power supply in the areas, necessitating the curtailment of electricity from 12:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.
The power distributor urged affected customers that efforts are ongoing to improve the voltage profile, after which the power supply will be restored.
