The Accra Regional Police Command has dismissed media reports suggesting that inmates who recently escaped from custody are connected to the murder of the father-in-law of GoldBod Chief Executive, Sammy Gyamfi.
In a statement, the Command firmly rejected claims that three of the six inmates who escaped from the Adabraka District Police Station on April 26, 2026, were linked to the murder case.
Police clarified that none of the escapees had been held at the station in connection with the incident, stressing that they have no involvement in the ongoing investigation.
Meanwhile, the Command confirmed that three of the six escapees have been re-arrested following swift operational action, with efforts ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects.
It further disclosed that a full-scale investigation has been launched into the circumstances surrounding the escape from custody.
The Police assured the public of their commitment to maintaining law and order and urged individuals with credible information on the whereabouts of the remaining fugitives to report to the nearest police station.
