Fire at GRIDCO’s triggers power outage across Ashanti Region - ECG announces

The Electricity Company of Ghana has announced a general power outage in the Ashanti Region due to an inferno at the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) substation in Akosombo.

The ECG has announced that power supply will be curtailed in the listed areas from 6:00 pm to 12:00 am on Sunday, April 26, 2026.

The power distributor assured affected customers that measures are underway to improve the voltage profile, after which power supply will be restored.

However, it regrets the inconvenience caused to affected customers.
