Over 15 vehicle destroyed in Kumasi fuel tanker accident

A petrol tanker transporting 54,000 litres of fuel collided with a garage at Ridge, near Plux 2 Pub, within the Kumasi Metropolis in Ghana’s Ashanti Region.

The incident happened on Thursday, April 16, and resulted in the destruction of over 15 vehicles. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries.

Local responders and fire crews were called in quickly. Firefighters from the Kumasi Kejetia Fire Station and the Ashanti Regional Fire Headquarters reached the site promptly to prevent a further fire or the possibility of an explosion.

After arriving, officials of the Ghana National Fire Service conducted cooling operations to remove any chance of ignition and to secure the surrounding area.
