Ghanaian media personality Afua Asantewaa has disclosed that she is currently separated from her husband, Kofi Owusu Aduonum, clarifying that the two are not divorced.
Speaking during a TikTok Live session with Pastor Fire Oja, Asantewaa addressed ongoing speculation about her marriage, stating, “I am not divorced, we are separated.”
The couple gained significant public attention in 2023 during Asantewaa’s Guinness World Records sing-a-thon attempt, where they were seen sharing a strong bond.
However, rumours about challenges in their relationship began to surface months after her second attempt in 2024, fueled by a series of cryptic social media posts.
During the live interaction, Pastor Fire Oja spoke about how love can diminish depending on how partners treat each other a sentiment Asantewaa appeared to agree with, simply responding, “Thank you.”
She also addressed public perceptions about outspoken individuals in relationships, suggesting they are often unfairly judged.
“If you are outspoken and your partner is quiet, people assume you are the problem. But they don’t know. When you get to know them, then…” she said.
