The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Goldbod, Sammy Gyamfi Esq, has rejected claims that the organization is making losses, saying it is posting surplus profits.

Speaking at the Government Accountability Series on Wednesday August 19, 2026, Mr Gyamfi said Goldbod’s operations generated total revenue of about GHC 1 billion while expenditure stood at around GHC 109 million. He said that, after deducting expenditure from revenue, the organization recorded an operational surplus of about GHC 907 million.

"The Goldbod on its own from its own operations generated total revenue of close to a billion Ghana Cedis, and kept expenditure just around GHC 109 million so that is what we mean by operational profits or surplus of GHC 9.7 million.

"Means that if you took all the revenue we generated as an organisation and you deducted our expenditure from it, we have GHC 907 million left, which put to rest the false claims that the Goldbod has been making losses," he stated.

Mr Gyamfi explained that the 2025 budget included a revolving seed capital equity provision for the newly established Goldbod of GHC 4.5 billion, which was reflected in the accounts on December 30, 2025.

He said those funds, which were not depleted, had to be added to the organization’s revenue, contributing to an overall surplus of GHC 5.4 billion.

He added that the figures were reflected in the Auditor‑General’s report and in the audited financial statements for 2025.

"To settle this matter once and for all I brought a copy of the annual report and financial statement of the Goldbod prepared and published by the Auditor‑General not Sammy Gyamfi and the Goldbod, we don't audit ourselves," he said.

Mr Gyamfi said 50 copies of the audited 2025 financial statements had been prepared and published by the Auditor‑General of Ghana.
