Ahead of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential primaries on January 31, Hon. Daniel Nana Addo-Kenneth, Member of Parliament for Okere and a key member of Bryan Acheampong’s campaign team, has thrown his support behind the former minister’s bid for the party’s flagbearer position.
Speaking during the Greater Kumasi campaign yesterday, Hon. Nana Addo-Kenneth described Bryan Acheampong as the “Akpeteshie of the NPP”, a bold, marketable leader and a unifier capable of rallying the party’s rank and file.
“With charisma and vision clear, he’ll lead the party, banish fear. Marketable, relatable, and true, Bryan Acheampong is the unifier who will galvanise the NPP towards victory in 2028,” Hon. Nana Addo-Kenneth said.
He added, “Bryan has the rare combination of political experience and grassroots connection. He knows how to bring together the young, the experienced, and the party faithful. His leadership style is inclusive, and he inspires confidence wherever he goes.”
Hon. Nana Addo-Kenneth further emphasised, “What sets Bryan apart is his ability to communicate a vision and turn it into actionable results. He is respected across the country, and his unifying presence will ensure that the NPP remains strong and united heading into the 2024 elections and beyond.”
Acheampong, a former Minister of Food and Agriculture, has been touring key party strongholds, connecting with delegates and grassroots supporters. His campaign highlights national development, party unity, and a message aimed at energising younger voters.
The NPP presidential primaries, set for January 31, will determine the party’s flagbearer ahead of the 2024 general elections. Five candidates are contesting the race, including former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former Assin North MP Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, former Education Minister, Yaw Adutwum and Kwabena Agyei Agyapong, former NPP General Secretary. The primaries are expected to be fiercely contested, with delegates from all 16 regions voting to select the candidate who will lead the party into the national polls.
