The Member of Parliament (MP) for Asokwa Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Patricia Appiah Agyei, has said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government has not delivered any meaningful development since assuming power.
In an interview, Hon. Appiah Agyei argued that job opportunities have declined under the current administration, despite campaign promises to create more employment for young people.
She criticised the government’s handling of illegal mining, known locally as galamsey, saying the practice has worsened despite President Mahama’s pledge to clamp down on it.
According to her, mining activities are now occurring close to residential areas.
The MP further stated that erratic power supply, commonly referred to as dumsor, has returned because the NDC government lacks the technical expertise to stabilise the sector.
Hon. Appiah Agyei also alleged that speaking out against the government’s performance often attracts reprisals.
“When you speak about the poor performance of the NDC government, they go after you. Freedom of speech is not against the NDC government. When you speak the truth, they arrest you," she said.
She urged Ghanaians to assess the government’s record critically ahead of the 2028 elections.
