Ghanaian entertainment personality, media pundit, and influencer, Abena Moet, has said that she would end her marriage if her husband decides to become a vegan.
She made this statement during a discussion on Toast, a show on GHOne TV, on Monday, May 4, 2026, while addressing the benefits of veganism.
She argued that if God did not intend for humans to eat animals, they would not reproduce in large numbers, saying some animals give birth to 10 or 12 offspring at a time.
In a passionate remark, she added; “You and who? The marriage is over because of meat. We were living peacefully, and now because you feel awakened, you want to impose it on me? You and your meatless body can go away,I will eat my meat.”
According to her, if a husband’s vegan lifestyle leads to cooking separate meals or rejecting food prepared with meat, then he should take responsibility.
“If it means cooking two different meals or refusing to eat what I cook because it has meat, then he should go and learn how to cook. You cannot come and stress everybody,” she emphasized.
Abena Moet further defended the nutritional value of meat, insisting it should not be dismissed.
She argued that meat can be more beneficial than some staple foods, stating that it is “not a fair statement” to downplay its importance based on dietary trends.
“I think it’s not a fair statement based on our upbringing, and it’s not like meat has no nutritional value. It is better to eat meat than to eat only rice or yams,” she pointed out.
