Court to Rule on Agradaa’s Appeal Against 15-Year Sentence on February 5

The Amasaman High Court has adjourned the appeal hearing of Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, to February 5, 2026, when the court is expected to deliver its judgment.

Nana Agradaa, a former fetish priestess turned evangelist, is appealing against both her conviction and sentence, arguing that the trial process was unfair and that the evidence presented did not justify the verdict reached by the lower court.

She is also contesting the 15-year custodial sentence imposed on July 3, 2025, after she was found guilty of charlatanic advertisement and defrauding by false pretence, describing the punishment as harsh and excessive.

Speaking to the media after proceedings on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, her lawyer, Richard Asare Baffour, explained that the adjournment resulted from the Attorney-General’s inability to comply with earlier directives issued by the court.

According to him, the delay was caused by technical challenges related to electronic evidence required for the appeal process, which prevented the Attorney-General’s Office from completing its filings on time.

Mr Baffour revealed that the defence team opposed a request for an extension of time by the Attorney-General’s Office, prompting the court to set a definitive date for judgment.

He added that while the court has fixed February 5, 2026, for the delivery of judgment, it has granted the Attorney-General’s Office the option to file written addresses before that date, should it consider it necessary.
