Veteran Ghanaian radio personality Alexander Kwaku Amoah, popularly known as DJ Candyman, has appealed for financial and prayer support as he receives treatment for kidney-related health complications.

DJ Candyman in a Facebook message said he is currently receiving treatment at Walter Aiden Specialist Clinic in Asokwa, Kumasi, and has appealed to the public to help him meet the demands of his treatment and recovery.

“I never imagined I would have to come out publicly to ask for help, but today, I humbly need your support,” he said in a public appeal.

He called on people who have supported, prayed for and encouraged him throughout his career, as well as those who have enjoyed his work over the years, to stand with him during what he described as a difficult period.

DJ Candyman said every contribution, regardless of its size, would help towards his treatment and recovery. He also appealed for continued prayers as he faces the health challenge.

“Please help me fight this battle. I believe that with your prayers, support and God’s grace, I will overcome this. God bless you all,” he said.

Amoah is a veteran figure in Ghana’s radio industry, with a broadcasting career spanning more than three decades. He began his radio journey in 1997 at Radio Lynk, then associated with Kumasi Polytechnic.

Over the years, he has worked with several radio stations, including Fox FM, Hello FM, Rainbow Radio, Atinka FM and Asaase Radio, building a long-standing presence in Ghana’s broadcasting and entertainment landscape.
