The Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) has suspended its planned strike action after the government responded to its concerns.
In a statement issued on Tuesday and signed by the National President of JUSAG, Mr Samuel Afotey Otu, the association said the decision was taken following assurances from the government.
“The planned strike has been suspended pending the implementation of the government’s payment plan,” the statement noted.
JUSAG had earlier announced its intention to embark on an indefinite strike from Monday, January 19, 2026, citing delays in the payment of eight months’ salary arrears owed to its members.
The association said staff of the Judicial Service have been directed to resume their normal duties while monitoring the implementation of the agreed payment plan.
Following the strike notice, the National Labour Commission invited representatives of the Judicial Service and the Ministry of Finance to resolve the dispute.
