The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana National Gas Company Limited, Judith Adjobah Blay, has embarked on an industrial tour of manufacturing firms that rely exclusively on processed lean gas for production.
The tour forms part of efforts by the company to deepen stakeholder engagement and assess firsthand the operational impact of its gas supply on key industries.
Since assuming office a year ago, Ms. Blay has intensified engagements with critical stakeholders, including power off-takers in the Sekondi-Takoradi and Tema enclaves. Her latest visit follows an earlier familiarisation tour of factories in Tema, where she interacted with companies such as Sentuo Oil Refinery.
On Tuesday, April 21, the CEO led a management delegation to the Western enclave, where they toured production lines and inspected finished products in showrooms of companies dependent on gas supply from Ghana Gas.
The delegation held discussions with management of several off-taker firms, beginning with JINTAO Sanitary Ware Company Limited, producers of ceramic sanitary products, including wash-hand basins and toilet seats.
At Wangkang Ceramics, management underscored the critical role of gas in sustaining production and appealed to government and Ghana Gas to review the cost of gas supply.
Meanwhile, at Twyford Group, Managing Director Li Wei commended Ghana Gas for its continued support. He also requested additional gas supply to support a new glass manufacturing line currently under construction, with full production expected to commence in August next year.
The tour is expected to strengthen collaboration between Ghana Gas and industrial stakeholders, as the company seeks to enhance efficiency and support the growth of Ghana’s manufacturing sector.
