Government has begun high-level engagements across Ghana’s petroleum value chain to evaluate the possible impact of the ongoing Middle East crisis on local fuel security and price stability.
The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, chaired a strategic meeting with key industry stakeholders as part of precautionary steps to anticipate potential supply disruptions and shield the economy from external shocks.
The meeting brought together representatives from the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), BOST, the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), Oil Marketing Companies, and Bulk Import, Distribution and Export Companies.
Deliberations centred on increasing volatility in global crude oil markets, escalating freight charges, possible supply chain constraints, and the potential transmission effects on domestic pump prices and overall consumer welfare.
