Feminine Ghana Achievement Awards celebrates 12 years of recognising outstanding women

By: Emmanuel Bekoe

The Feminine Ghana Achievement Awards, organised by The Business Executive Communications Group (TBE), has celebrated a decade-plus of recognising and honouring exceptional women across Ghana’s public and private sectors.

The 12th edition of the awards highlighted the achievements of women whose contributions in areas including business, education, healthcare, technology, finance, public service, agriculture, media, entrepreneurship, and philanthropy continue to create positive impact in society.

Delivering the keynote address at the ceremony, former Director-General of the Ghana TVET Service and Founder of the Network of Women in Growth, Baroness Mawusi Nudekor Awity, stressed the importance of empowering women as key contributors to Ghana’s economic and social advancement.

She said no country can achieve its full development potential if women are prevented from making meaningful contributions to national progress.

“No nation can hope to attain its full economic and social potential while limiting the contributions of half of its population,” Baroness Awity said.

She commended TBE for sustaining the initiative over 12 editions, describing the awards as an important platform for identifying role models whose accomplishments inspire women and girls to pursue excellence, integrity, and innovation.

Baroness Awity noted that the awards represent more than a celebration of individual achievements, as they also recognise the broader societal impact of women’s leadership and commitment across diverse sectors.

Established in 2014, the Feminine Ghana Achievement Awards is regarded as a pioneering recognition scheme dedicated specifically to celebrating the accomplishments of women.

The initiative was created to address the limited visibility of women in traditional award schemes and provide a platform to acknowledge their contributions.

The awards recognise women from various fields, including entrepreneurship, corporate leadership, diplomacy, sports, traditional leadership, and public administration. Awardees are selected based on exemplary conduct, professional achievements, and meaningful contributions to society.

Over the years, the initiative has continued to promote women’s empowerment, encourage inclusive development, and highlight the critical role women play in shaping Ghana’s future.
