President John Dramani Mahama has commenced a two-day working visit to the Central Region as part of his government's Resetting Ghana agenda aimed at strengthening direct engagement with citizens and accelerating development across the country.
The tour begins at Assin Bereku in the Assin North District, where the President is expected to address a durbar of chiefs and residents before cutting the sod for a new 24-hour economy market, one of the flagship projects under his administration.
Accompanied by key ministers and government officials, President Mahama will also inspect four ongoing road projects in the region as part of efforts to monitor infrastructure development and improve connectivity.
In the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese District, the President will inaugurate a Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound and distribute Free Primary Health Care kits to support access to healthcare services.
The tour will also take him to Cape Coast Castle, where he will promote heritage tourism and encourage greater domestic and international patronage of the region's historical attractions.
President Mahama's visit will conclude with a Citizens Engagement Town Hall meeting at Apam Junction, providing an opportunity for residents to interact directly with the President and share concerns affecting their communities.
The forum is also expected to serve as an accountability platform, allowing the President to outline government initiatives aimed at promoting development, attracting investment and creating jobs in the Central Region.
The working tour forms part of the government's broader efforts to deepen citizen participation in governance while assessing the progress of key development projects across the country.
