GES assures adequate facilities available; dismisses claims of 72,000 students at risk

The Ghana Education Service (GES), has assured the public that there are adequate facilities and infrastructure to accommodate all qualified students.

In a press release signed by, Head of Public Relations at GES, Daniel Fenyi, the management urged the public to disregard reports circulating in some sections of the media suggesting that about 72,000 students risk not being placed, calling the claim speculative and not reflective of reality.

The release stated that every effort has been made to ensure that each qualified candidate will be placed in a senior high or technical school.

"The reports circulating in sections of the media suggesting that about 72,000 students risk not being placed is speculative and does not reflect the reality, we therefore urge the public to disregard it.

"Management assures all graduates that comprehensive preparations and arrangements have been made to receive all freshers into Senior High/Technical Schools across the country on September 18, 2026," it stated.

GES further assured stakeholders that the ongoing efforts to phase out the double-track system will not hinder students' access to senior high and technical education.

The restructuring, it said, will improve the quality of teaching and learning while maintaining full access for all students.

The Service reaffirmed its commitment to equitable, inclusive and quality education for every Ghanaian child and called on all stakeholders to support this shared national objective.

The management also warmly congratulated all Junior High School (JHS) graduates on successfully completing the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
