Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong donates furnished dormitory to his Alma mater

Businessman and founder of the Special Group of Companies, Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong, has commissioned a new 600-bed dormitory for PRESEC Legon on his 60th birthday.

‎During the celebrations, on Tuesday, May 5,2026, Dr. Sarpong explained that the dormitory is a symbol of gratitude to the school for nurturing and grooming him.

‎“This facility is not just a building to me. It is a symbol of gratitude, responsibility, and belief in the power of education.

‎“It is with this conviction that I chose to dedicate this milestone to the construction and donation of this 600-bed dormitory to our beloved school, Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School,” he revealed.

‎He highlighted that the project represents his commitment as an old student and his determination to ensure that those who come after us have an environment that supports their growth, comfort, and pursuit of excellence.

‎Dr. Sarpong expressed hope that the dormitory would help reduce congestion and improve living conditions in the school.

‎“My hope is that this facility will ease congestion, improve living conditions, and create a more conducive atmosphere for learning and development,” he stated.

‎He expressed his excitement at being able to complete the dormitory to ease the overcrowding situation in the school.

‎“When I became Board Chair, I had the opportunity to visit most of the dormitories, and the congestion there was unimaginable.

"So I am very happy that today I have been able to build a 600-bed boarding facility to help decongest the place,” he disclosed.

‎Dr. Sarpong further admonished the students to make good use of the new facility, respect it, and keep it for generations to come.

‎“To the current students, this dormitory is for you. May it be a place where friendships are forged, where dreams are nurtured, and where discipline and character are strengthened.

" Use it well, respect it, and remember that you stand on the shoulders of those who came before you,” he urged.
