Suspected car-deal murder: Theophilus Ashitey confirmed dead

Theophilus Ashitey, who was reported missing earlier last month following online arrangements for a car deal meeting, has now been confirmed dead.

Reports indicate that he was accompanied by his friend, Wisdom Tetteh, to meet the buyer.

He was later reported missing, and the police visited the suspect's room, where they found blood stains.

The police noted that investigations indicated he had crossed the border into Togo.

A manhunt began, with Interpol supporting the efforts. The suspect was apprehended and brought back to Ghana.

He allegedly confirmed to the police that he killed Ashitey.

According to reports, Wisdom Tetteh has been arrested and allegedly confessed to killing Ashitey by hitting him on the head with a metal object until he died. It is reported that this happened on Monday, April 6, 2026.

The body was allegedly burned in a bush near the University of Ghana on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.

The suspect is in police custody and is assisting with investigations.
