Ghana’s High Commission in South Africa has urged Ghanaian business owners in Pretoria to temporarily shut down their businesses on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, ahead of a planned protest by an anti-immigrant group.
As the March Organisation prepares to stage demonstrations to the Presidency over immigration concerns, the mission is cautioning members of the Ghanaian community to take precautionary measures.
In a statement, the Ghana High Commission, Pretoria, encouraged shop owners to close their businesses for the day and refrain from participating in public gatherings that could escalate into confrontation.
The statement further advised to maintain a low profile and act with discretion in both public spaces and online platforms including avoiding the sharing of content that may be perceived as provocative or inflammatory.
