The Member of Parliament (MP) for Berekum East, Simon Amoabeng Kyeremeh, has donated over 3,000 mathematical sets to support Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates in his constituency.
According to the Berekum East MP, mathematical sets are part of his support for candidates to prepare adequately for the BECE.
He urged pupils to focus on their studies and to refrain from any form of malpractice, saying he cannot defend anyone who is caught in such an act.
"Since the teachers have done their parts, then what we call examination malpractice they should stay away from it and we're building a nation so the little things that the teachers have taught them and what they have also learned.
"They still have few days ahead of them so they should try and do their best and I believe in the teachers and whatever have been taught is enough so no one should have it in mind to send any foreign materials to the exams hall.
"You still have opportunity to learn in other to benefit you I'm the future, the community, your family and even the country so this is donation we do in every year to support them so today we came to support them with mathematical sets," he explained.
Receiving the items on behalf of over 2,500 candidates, David Owusu Ansah, the Education Director for Berekum East and West, commended the MP for the donation. He noted that many candidates lack these essential materials.
He also assured the public of proper supervision to ensure an examination free from malpractice.
