Ghana Gas CEO engages Prestea Himan Traditional Authority, pledges development projects

The Chief Executive Officer of Ghana National Gas Company, Ms. Judith Adjobah Blay, has paid a courtesy call on the Prestea Himan Traditional Authority as part of efforts to deepen stakeholder relations in project-affected communities.

The visit forms part of ongoing engagements by the company to strengthen ties within Prestea, where Ghana Gas has operated a Regulating and Metering Station since 2015.

Welcoming the CEO, the Chief of Prestea Himan, Nana Nteboa Pra IV, speaking on behalf of the Traditional Council, expressed appreciation for the visit and described it as historic. He noted that since the establishment of the facility, no previous CEO had directly engaged the traditional leadership, commending Ms. Blay for her proactive approach.

The Member of Parliament for Prestea Huni-Valley, Hon. Joseph Wisdom Cudjoe, who was present at the meeting, also outlined key concerns affecting residents of the area.

Responding to the issues raised, Ms. Blay assured the Traditional Authority of enhanced collaboration and support for community development. She revealed that approval has been secured for the construction of a new bridge and the rehabilitation of the road linking the community to the company’s operational site.

In addition, she announced plans by Ghana Gas to construct a new male ward at the Prestea Government Hospital.

Ms. Blay further indicated that the company is advancing plans to expand employment opportunities for indigenous residents, as part of its broader commitment to local economic empowerment.
