Awutu Senya East MP commissions ultra-modern service centre in Kasoa

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), together with the Awutu Senya East Member of Parliament (MP), Phillis Naa Koryo Okunor, has commissioned a new ultra-modern service centre in Kasoa.

The facility is aimed at tackling the activities of middlemen, popularly known as “goro boys”.

Speaking at the commissioning, the Deputy Chief Executive in charge of Services, Foster Akwesi Asante Esq., stated that the establishment of the centre is intended to bring DVLA services closer to residents.

According to him, the centre will reduce the need for long-distance travel by motorists seeking vehicle registration and document renewal services.

He explained that many drivers fall victim to the activities of “goro boys” due to the inconvenience of travelling far to access DVLA services. The new centre, he noted, will streamline operations and eliminate such fraudulent practices.

Hon. Naa Koryo urged drivers in Kasoa and its environs to take full advantage of the new facility and avoid dealing with unauthorised agents. She also highlighted that Kasoa now has its own registered vehicle number plate prefix, “KS”, describing it as a significant milestone for the municipality.

The commissioning of the Kasoa Ultra Centre is expected to improve service delivery, enhance efficiency, and protect motorists from exploitation.

"Today DVLA Ultra Center has been commissioned at Kasoa Tipa which part of CP Electoral Area. When look at Kasoa and the population, how the people are many and we don't have DVLA so if we want renew our license and road worthy unless we go to Weija or Winneba.

"And the traffic issue too which makes some drivers feel lazy to que but now the DVLA has come to our doorsteps and this will help drivers who sometimes feel dizzy will be going there all the time when their time of renewing is due to renew it," she said.
