The Asante Concern Youth Group has thrown its support behind two Ashanti aspirants, Kwabena Agyapong and Dr. Osei Adutwum, in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearership contest, urging delegates to vote for a leader from the Ashanti Region.
According to Ebenezer Nyamekye, the leader of the group, the region has a proven track record of producing effective leaders, citing former President Kufuor's successful tenure as an example.
The group believes that the Ashanti Region's turn is overdue and that a leader from the region can bring a fresh perspective and unity to the party.
"We need someone who understands the pulse of the people, and we believe our region has the right candidate," Ebenezer emphasised.
This endorsement adds to the growing momentum behind the Ashanti aspirants, positioning them as strong contenders in the NPP flagbearership race. The contest is heating up, with the election scheduled for January 31, 2026.
The group leader urged delegates to consider the region's potential and vote for a leader who can deliver results.
"The best candidate that can bring the NPP into power in 2028 is from the Ashanti Region, and no one else," he emphasised.
