The Youth Organiser for the Nankese Ahenbrom Electoral Area, Samuel Twumasi known as Lawyer Twumasi, has declared his intention to contest for the position of Constituency Youth Organiser for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Suhum.
This decision is driven by service, experience, and a deep commitment to the growth of the party (NPP) and the empowerment of young people across the constituency.
Samuel Twumasi, who served as Coordinator and Campaign Team Member for Bryan Acheampong during the NPP presidential primaries, has, in his current role, played a major part in mobilising, listening to, and working with youth in the Suhum constituency.
Mr Twumasi expressed that, with his strength, belief, and dedication, NPP in Suhum can unlock the full potential of its young men and women.
To him, his vision is to dedicate purposeful and results-driven leadership to the entire Suhum constituency.
According to Mr Twumasi, he intends to bridge polling stations, electoral areas, and the constituency executive, so that no young person feels left behind. “Revamping the Suhum youth is not a slogan to him, it is a task I am ready to lead.
“If given the nod, I will work to strengthen party structures, deepen youth participation, and create opportunities that translate into loyalty and victory for the NPP. My training in Political Science and ongoing studies in Human Rights, Conflict and Peace will guide me to lead with inclusion, strategy, and peace.
"I therefore humbly ask for your support, prayers, and vote as I seek to serve as your next Constituency Youth Organiser. Together, we will secure the future of the youth, secure Suhum, and secure victory for the New Patriotic Party,” he declared.
Emerging Young Politician with TESCON-to-Constituency Credentials
Twumasi Samuel is an emerging young politician in the New Patriotic Party within Suhum Constituency, Eastern Region. He brands himself as energetic and vibrant, with a track record that moves from student activism to constituency-level organising. He is currently vying for the position of Suhum Constituency Youth Organiser.
His academic foundation is strong. He holds a first degree in Political Science, graduating with Second Class Upper. He is now reading a Master’s in Philosophy, specialising in Human Rights, Conflict and Peace Studies, a background that directly shapes his political language around youth empowerment and peacebuilding.
His political journey started at the grassroots of party student politics. At the University of Education, Winneba, he served as TESCON Vice President, TESCON Chief Justice, and sat on the TESCON Electoral Commission. Those roles gave him early experience in mobilisation, adjudication, and internal party elections.
Beyond TESCON, he built a profile in student governance linked to law and politics. He was Judicial Board Member and later Judicial Board Secretary for the Political Science Students Association, as well as Electoral Commission Secretary and Chairperson for the Student Legal Society.
He also served as Protocol Officer for Youth for Human Right Africa (UEW Chapter).
He transitioned that student leadership into formal NPP constituency work. In the 2020 elections, he was the Sooka, Nankese Zone Coordinator for the party, helping coordinate polling station-level activities. This placed him on the ground with voters and party structures early.
He has since been part of the party’s communication architecture. He serves as Government Spokesperson for Eastern Region NPP Communications and is a member of the Suhum Constituency Communication Team. Those roles place him at the frontline of defending party policy and shaping youth narratives in the constituency.
His base in NASPA, the National Service Personnel Association, is key to his youth appeal. He is currently NASPA President for Suhum Municipality (2024–Date) and Eastern Regional NASPA Vice President/Ag President (2024). This gives him direct access to service personnel, a critical youth voting bloc.
His secondary school leadership also showed early signals. At Suhum Presbyterian Senior High, he was Prep Prefect (2016–2017). The profile frames this as the beginning of a consistent leadership pattern from SHS through university to party work.
In Suhum politics today, he represents the “TESCON-to-Constituency” pipeline: young, educated, communication-savvy, and rooted in party structures. His campaign themes are “#THE SUHUM YOUTH DREAM” and “#REVAMPING THE SUHUM YOUTH, SECURING THE FUTURE”, signalling a focus on jobs, inclusion, and youth participation.
In short, within Suhum NPP he is a visible youth leader with TESCON, NASPA, and communications credentials. His bid for Constituency Youth Organiser is framed as a reward for “esteemed leadership” and hard work over the years, aiming to consolidate the party’s youth wing ahead of future elections.
