Ghanaian singer King Promise has said music awards do not influence his creative direction, insisting that he will not be pressured into producing songs solely to win accolades.
The artiste explained that while he values recognition, his priority is to create authentic music that reflects his artistry rather than chasing industry awards.
“I’m not making music for awards. I cherish the awards but will not be pressured into making music,” he said.
King Promise also expressed confidence in his abilities, noting that he remains capable of securing top honours whenever he sets his mind to it.
“If I want to become Artiste of the Year again, I would,” he added.
He made the remarks during a phone interview on 3FM.
