Management of Aduana Stars Soccer Club has formally informed the family of their player, Dominic Frimpong, of his tragic death following an armed robbery attack.
Frimpong, a 20-year-old striker, was shot and killed by masked gunmen while the team was returning from a match at Samreboi on Sunday, April 12, 2026.
A delegation led by the club’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Collins Atta Poku, visited the bereaved family to convey the club’s condolences and brief them on the circumstances surrounding the incident.
He also delivered a message of sympathy from the club’s owner, Osagyefo Agyemang Badu.
Emotions ran high during the visit as Mr Atta Poku presented Frimpong’s bag, containing his personal belongings to the family. The gesture triggered scenes of grief, with relatives and sympathisers breaking down in tears.
According to Mr Atta Poku, the club owner instructed that the bag should not be opened but handed over in its current state, symbolising the player’s permanent absence from the team.
Frimpong’s body has since been deposited at the Berekum Government Hospital mortuary for preservation as investigations continue.
The remains are expected to be conveyed to his hometown, Assin Dansame, in two weeks in line with the family’s funeral arrangements.
