Sachet water to be sold at GH¢15 per bag effective April 6

The National Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers (NASPAWAP) has announced a price adjustment for sachet water, setting the maximum retail price at GH¢15 per bag, effective Monday, April 6, 2026.

In a statement, the association explained that the decision has become necessary owing to a global shortage of polymers and a sharp rise in their prices.

The situation has been worsened by ongoing conflict in Iran, which has disrupted supply chains and increased production costs.

Under the new pricing structure, the ex-factory price is set at GH¢8 per bag of 500 ml × 30 sachets, while the ex-truck price will be GH¢10 per bag. Retailers are expected to sell the product at a maximum of GH¢15 per bag.

NASPAWAP noted that the upward adjustment is intended to help producers sustain operations amid rising input costs and urged retailers and consumers to comply with the recommended prices to ensure fair trade.

The association also appealed for public understanding, stressing that the review is a response to global economic pressures affecting the packaging and water‑production industry.
