'Students who sleep in these rooms won’t be afraid in prisons' - Akrofuom MP Describes Boys' Dormitory

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Akrofuom Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Azumah Joseph, has described the Akrofuom Senior High Technical School Boys' Dormitory as a prison cell, claiming it is the worst environment for accommodating students.

In an interview with the media during the groundbreaking ceremony for an ultra-modern boys' dormitory building, Hon. Azumah Joseph explained the dire conditions faced by the students.

He lamented that the current state of the Akrofuom SHTS Boys' Dormitory is not dissimilar to that of a prison room.

He expressed that any student who sleeps in the dormitory will not be afraid to spend time in prison due to its current state.

"We are treating the students humanely; the current state of Akrofuom SHTS Boys' Dormitory is not different from a prison room, and any student who sleeps here won’t be afraid to spend some time in prison because of equality," he stated.

"I wept on the first day I entered the boys' dormitory," he added, expressing his deep concern for the situation.

The MP further asserted that no prominent individual would allow their child to study at the school for a month under such conditions.
