Four individuals have been arrested in connection with an alleged assault incident at Ashongman Estate in Accra, according to the Ghana Police Service.
The Kwabenya District Police Command made the arrests while investigating a complaint filed by a 42-year-old woman, Madam Hagar Emaser.
She reported that officials from Bills Microfinance company allegedly visited her residence on March 13, 2026 to demand repayment of a loan and assaulted her during the process.
On March 14, 2026, the suspects, identified as Denis Wornyo, aged 38; Albert Amarh, aged 40; Ebenezer Amartei, aged 23; and Atsu Lawson, aged 27, were apprehended by the Police.
According to a statement signed by Ms Juliana Obeng (SUPT), Head of Public Affairs for the Accra Region, statements have been obtained from all four suspects.
The statement revealed that the suspects are currently in police custody, assisting with the investigations.
The Accra Regional Police Command cautioned that victims of assault and other criminal acts should report such incidents to the police for immediate investigation.
However, the Command also advised individuals with grievances related to loan transactions or other civil matters to seek lawful and peaceful means of resolution.
