Kwame Baffoe, widely known as Abronye DC, has secured another term as the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Bono Regional Chairman after the party held its regional executive elections on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
Abronye received 201 votes to top a field of four other candidates, thereby retaining his role as the party’s regional leader.
His re-election grants him a fresh mandate to supervise the NPP’s regional structures, co‑ordinate constituency activities and direct the party’s organisational operations across the region.
The elections also produced new officers in several other key positions. Kofi Ofosu Boateng was chosen as Regional Secretary with 187 votes, defeating Asare Baffour Ebenezer who polled 93 votes.
Abdul Razak Oppong won the Regional Organiser post after securing 229 votes, while Darlington Bill Boampong received 52 votes.
Kate Amponsah Agyare was elected First Vice‑Chairman with 252 votes.
Kwaku Antwi Agyei took the Second Vice‑Chairman slot after polling 123 votes. In the Deputy Secretary contest, Randy Ashraf Issahaku obtained 145 votes to narrowly beat Stephen Opuni, who received 135 votes; one ballot was rejected.
Samira Sulley emerged as Women’s Organiser with 142 votes, edging out Doris Asomah who garnered 139 votes.
The Youth Organiser position was won by Dauda Ibrahim Bamba with 102 votes, followed by Shadrach Abrefah Mensah on 92 votes; Joeffrey Kwarteng Brobbey and Alhaji Baba Suwari recorded 58 and 29 votes respectively.
Faisal Osman Mohammed was elected Nasara Organiser with 177 votes, defeating Wahab Bashiru who obtained 101 votes; two ballots were rejected in that contest.
Veronica Tuffour prevailed in the Treasurer race with 131 votes, ahead of Henry Osei on 124 votes and Kassim Siaka on 25 votes. Fahd Osman secured the Communications role after polling 170 votes against Abubakari Yakubu’s 111 votes.
Abronye’s continued stewardship comes as the NPP embarks on a wider reorganisation of its regional apparatus following the party’s defeat in the 2024 general election.
The newly elected executive will be tasked with strengthening the party’s grassroots structures and preparing for future electoral contests.
