Eastern Regional Minister breaks ground for 11 GETFund projects to boost education in Yilo Krobo

The Eastern Regional Minister, Rita Akosua Agyei Awaitey, has broken ground for the construction of eleven GETFund projects aimed at enhancing education in the Yilo Krobo Municipality.

Speaking to the media, she noted that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government is fulfilling all promises made to Ghanaians, specifically in the Eastern Region and the Yilo Krobo Municipality, which is a reality for residents.

According to the Minister, the commencement of these projects will enhance the quality of education for the residents in the municipality.

These projects include; "No. 2 Hostel Block at the University of Environment and Sustainable Development (UESD) in Somanya, 2-Storey Girls' Dormitory Block at Yilo Krobo Senior High School (SHS) in Somanya, 2-Storey Boys' Dormitory Block at Yilo Krobo SHS in Somanya, 3-Storey, 18-Unit Classroom Block at Yilo Krobo SHS in Somanya.

"4-Unit, 2-Bedroom Semi-Detached Bungalow at Klo Agogo SHS, 3-Bedroom Headmistress Bungalow at Klo Agogo SHS, Dining Hall with Kitchen at Klo Agogo SHS, 2-Storey Administration Block with Library at Klo Agogo SHS, 2-Storey, 6-Unit Classroom Block with 6-Unit Staff Quarters at Sra Presby in Somanya, 6-Unit Classroom Block at Aboabo Basic School."

"We're here today cutting sod for so many projects, courtesy of our party. The president of the nation promised, and the party promised Ghanaians that we are going to deliver on all our commitments. We promised Ghanaians good quality education, and today we've cut sod for many projects.

"We cut sod for No. 2 Hostel at the University of Environment and Sustainable Development in Somanya. We cut sod for two-storey girls' dormitories for Yilo Krobo, and we cut sod for two-storey dormitories for boys in Yilo Krobo," she stated.

The Regional Minister added that the NDC government will remain in power for 32 years due to the massive developments across the country, which are a testament to all Ghanaians.

Therefore, she pledged to oversee the completion of all the projects funded by GETFund in the Yilo Krobo Municipality.
