Award-winning gospel musician Selina Boateng has expressed her willingness to collaborate with dancehall star Shatta Wale.
Speaking in exclusive interview on Maxtv the gospel artiste expressed her believe that such partnership could serve as a powerful avenue for evangelism.
According to her, she has no reservations about working with secular artistes provided the music is centered on Christ and promotes the message of the gospel.
"I have no problem collaborating with a secular artiste as long as the song glorifies God. If it’s about Christ, I’m fully committed.
"My aim is to bring people closer to the gospel and to God, not to be drawn away from my faith,” she shared.
Speaking on why Shatta Wale would be a suitable collaborator, she noted that the dancehall artiste's massive following presents an opportunity to introduce more people to Christian worship.
“I would be open to making a song with Shatta Wale because I believe it could help me reach the Shatta Movement and introduce them to Christian worship,” she noted.
Selina Boateng stressed that her faith remains non-negotiable and that she would only be involved if the project aligns with her Christian values.
"If Shatta Wale’s intention is to influence me to follow his lifestyle or beliefs, then I would not be part of it because I won’t compromise my faith,” she added.
The gospel artiste further explained that every collaboration she undertakes is carefully considered with her management to ensure it aligns with her ministry.
"I work closely with my management, so we discuss every collaboration. If the timing is right and it’s an opportunity to spread the word of God through music, then why not? Shatta Wale has a large secular fan base, and that’s exactly why such a collaboration could help reach people with the gospel,” she said.
Reiterating her mission, Selina Boateng said her ministry extends beyond church settings, insisting that every platform is an opportunity to share the message of Christ.
"We participate in many events because our mission is to reach people and win souls for Christ,” she said.
