At least 13 people have died and several others injured after a three-vehicle collision at Odumase near Konongo on the Kumasi-Accra Highway.
The accident, which occurred on the busy Kumasi-Accra Highway, involved a truck transporting tomatoes, a passenger bus and a fuel tanker that was reportedly empty at the time of the collision.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of the crash as emergency teams and security agencies continue rescue and recovery operations at the scene.
The incident has resulted in significant traffic congestion along the highway, with motorists facing delays as officials work to clear the area and attend to victims.
Reports indicate that a second road crash also occurred shortly afterwards at Dadieso, another community near Konongo, raising fresh concerns about road safety on the major transport corridor.
The confirmed death toll currently stands at 13, but officials have warned that the figure could increase as rescue efforts continue and critically injured victims receive medical attention.
Emergency responders are expected to provide further updates as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crashes progress.
