The Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture and Member of Parliament (MP) for Ayawaso West Wuogon, John Dumelo, has urged his constituents to prioritise proper sanitation and waste management.

Speaking at the launch of the Wastle application on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, the lawmaker emphasised that citizens must take bold initiatives to keep the environment clean and drive this vision forward.

He also announced a strategic partnership with Wastle, a waste-management organisation that has entered the constituency with an innovative app-based solution to tackle garbage collection.

Hon. John Dumelo expressed immense gratitude to the management of Wastle for extending their operations to Ayawaso West Wuogon, noting that their intervention provides a vital blueprint for a modern, cleaner community. According to him, tackling sanitation requires moving beyond traditional methods and adopting forward-thinking solutions.

"It is time for us to manage our waste and sanitation properly," Dumelo urged his constituents. "It wouldn’t hurt for us to take a bold initiative in order to keep a handle on waste management. This is about taking a collective step forward for our health and our environment."

Highlighting the tech-driven approach of the partnership, the lawmaker expressed great excitement over the official launch of the new Wastle mobile application.

Hon. John Dumelo noted that the app will allow residents to schedule refuse collection and track services seamlessly from their smartphones.

"I am highly impressed with the technology being introduced. With just a click on the app, our people can communicate directly with Wastle drivers to come to their aid and collect their refuse.

"It makes the entire process efficient, fast, and accessible to everyone," the MP explained.

He urged residents of the Ayawaso West Wuogon municipality to download the application immediately and actively participate in the sanitation drive.

He reiterated that his office remains fully committed to supporting smart initiatives that improve the daily lives, health, and well-being of the people.
