Deputy Finance Minister and Member of Parliament (MP) for Asuogyaman Constituency, Thomas Ampem Nyarko, has announced plans to cultivate future intellectuals through the Asuogyaman Science and Maths Quiz Contest.
The finals featured Anum Presbyterian Senior High School (SHS), Akosombo International School and Akwamuman SHS.
Karim Awudu, the MP’s special aide, speaking on behalf of Thomas Ampem Nyarko at the third edition of the contest held at Apeguso SHS, said the MP is committed to investing in education for the people of the Asuogyaman district.
According to him, this commitment will lead to the construction of significant educational infrastructure and the introduction of initiatives to improve education for future generations.
He explained that these investments will help produce the next engineers, lawyers and doctors for Asuogyaman and the country at large, because science and maths are the foundation of global technology.
"Today, if a child can learn and see what we're doing here, what it means is that, tomorrow the future engineers , the future innovators might also come from Asuogyaman and that is the dream.
"It is also beyond Science and Maths quiz, the has made significant contribution and investment in education, when you look at the classroom block he's building, when you go to Asempa na eye, he's building JHS block.
"When you go to Aboasa, he as built JHS which very soon would be commissioned, and Adome Senior High School, he has built JHS block also would be commissioned soon," Mr Awudu said.
Mr Awudu added that the MP’s interventions demonstrate a long-term vision for educational development across the constituency.
