A 15-year-old JHS2 female pupil allegedly inflicted cutlass wounds on a male JHS1 schoolmate after accusing him of repeatedly touching her breasts despite several warnings to stop.

The incident reportedly occurred at Assin Krofofrodo D/A Basic School in the Assin North District while pupils were taking part in a campus clean-up exercise.

The report indicated that, school authorities had instructed the students to weed the overgrown compound using cutlasses.

According to the girl’s account, the boy repeatedly played with and touched her breasts while they were working.

She said she warned him several times to stop, but he ignored her warnings and continued the inappropriate conduct.

Enraged by his actions, she allegedly picked up a cutlass and slashed the boy on his inner wrist.

The victim sustained a deep cut and was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment after bleeding profusely.

The parents of the injured boy have accused the school authorities of negligence, alleging that they showed no concern after the incident occurred during school hours.

They claim the authorities failed to take immediate action or rush the boy to hospital after he sustained the cutlass wound.

According to the parents, the boy was left unattended for some time despite bleeding profusely before he was eventually taken to hospital for medical attention when a parent returned from the farm.

Speaking on behalf of the family, the victim’s elder sister, Joyce Enyan, called on the police to conduct a thorough investigation into the conduct of the school authorities and how they handled the situation.

"Blood was all over her body, there's a woman who gave her different dress to wear and I have washed all her uniform because of the blood.

"She went to school and she said one of her friends that she plays with cut her. She said she put his hand on her shoulder and it touches her breast.

"She told him she will cut him with a cutlass and she did so. He said he saw his vains and the teachers too did not do well, they made him stayed in the school for long when the incident happened, my uncle was not there and no teacher also escorted her home," she said.
