The Head of Protocol at the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Justice Quarm, has donated essential food items to food vendors in the Agona Asafo community in a bid to ease rising operational costs and bolster local food services.

The donation included bags of rice, bags of beans, sacks of maize and other staple foodstuffs.

Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Justice Quarm emphasized that this gesture is aimed at reducing production expenses for vendors, helping them sustain their businesses and ensuring continued access to affordable meals for residents.

He noted that food vendors play a significant role in the local economy and the daily lives of the people.

"Our food vendors are the heartbeat of Agona Asafo’s local economy. Supporting them means supporting families, workers, and school children who rely on them daily. This gesture is to ease their financial burdens and ensure their businesses thrive," he said.

Mr. Quarm pledged to extend the initiative to other communities in the area and urged the beneficiaries to remember him in their prayers as he seeks further support for the district.

Beneficiaries welcomed the donation and expressed gratitude, saying the supplies would lower costs and enable them to serve the community more effectively.

Several vendors described the assistance as timely amid rising prices of food and cooking inputs.
