A fuel tanker was involved in an accident on the Amasaman–Nsawam road in the Greater Accra Region on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at around 7:00 am.
Eyewitnesses said the driver was on a phone call at the time of the incident and that this contributed to the crash.
"The driver was on phone call when coming so when were shouting but he did not mind us so what we could hear was accident. He told us that car can kill you even in your house.
"So is the fault of the driver, we told him even where the fuel tanker fell could have killed someone standing there and he responded that a car can kill you even in your house," one eyewitness recounted.
Authorities confirmed that no one was injured. Officers from the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded to the scene and ensured the situation was brought under control.
