NDC schedules December 19, 2026 for National Delegates Conference

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced that its National Delegates Conference will be held on December 19, 2026, to elect new national leaders of the party.

Speaking at a press briefing on Thursday, the party’s General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, said the internal elections would follow a bottom-to-top process, beginning at the branch level, moving through constituency and regional structures, and culminating at the national level.

He outlined the timeline for the exercise, noting that filing of nominations will take place from Saturday, November 7, to Monday, November 9, 2026, while the vetting of aspirants is scheduled for Thursday, November 12, and Friday, November 13, 2026.

“Appeals will be heard on Sunday, November 15, and Monday, November 16, 2026. The youth and women’s conferences are scheduled for Saturday, December 12, 2026,” Mr. Kwetey explained.

He confirmed that the National Delegates Conference will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2026, marking the conclusion of the internal election process.

Mr. Kwetey said the exercise forms part of the NDC’s broader strategy to reorganise and strengthen its structures ahead of the 2028 general elections.

“This process completes a critical framework for preparing the party for the next contest for power in the country while ensuring that we continue the good work we are doing,” he added.
