The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has announced it will investigate an alleged assault on a journalist reported on Monday, January 26, 2026.
The incident reportedly occurred on the outskirts of Walewale, in the North East Region, where there have been recent attacks on public transport, resulting in deaths and injuries.
In a statement released on Wednesday, January 28, GAF revealed that these current developments in the North East and Upper East Regions have led to heightened levels of insecurity. Consequently, military operations may occasionally be conducted without prior notice.
However, GAF urged the general public to cooperate with the Ghana Armed Forces and other security agencies during this time.
The statement was released and signed by Veronica Adzo Arhin, Captain (Ghana Navy), Acting Director General of Public Relations.
