Murder suspect Bright Aweh asks court for access to wife and newborn

Bright Aweh, the prime suspect in the murder of Immigration Officer Stephen King Amoah, has appealed to the Adabraka Circuit Court to allow him to see his wife and newborn child.

Speaking before the court, Aweh said his wife gave birth after his arrest and that he has not had the opportunity to see either her or the baby since then.

According to him, he has been in detention for over a year and does not even know whether the child is a boy or a girl due to his lack of contact with his family.

Aweh pleaded with the court to grant him the opportunity to reunite with his wife and newborn, describing the situation as emotionally difficult.

The court is expected to continue hearing the case on June 15, 2026.
