Minister for Energy and Green Transition John Abdulai Jinapor has reiterated the government’s commitment to reinforcing the nation’s petroleum sector following an on-site inspection of key offshore production facilities in the TEN Fields.
The Minister toured the FPSO John Evans Atta Mills, which operates in the TEN Fields offshore Ghana, and the Noble Venturer vessel responsible for rig operations in the area.
Mr Jinapor said the visit provided a valuable chance to engage directly with technical personnel, engineers and industry partners who are working to maintain and boost oil and gas output.
He observed that the TEN Fields continue to occupy a strategic position in Ghana’s energy landscape, contributing substantially to the country’s petroleum output and underpinning stable power supply through dependable gas deliveries.
“The TEN Fields remain one of Ghana’s most strategic offshore assets, playing a critical role not only in strengthening our oil and gas sector but also in supporting power generation,” the Minister stated.
He explained that gas from the offshore operations continues to support electricity generation for industries, businesses and households across the country, underscoring the importance of preserving operational efficiency within the sector.
During the visit, Mr Jinapor praised the professionalism, dedication and commitment demonstrated by staff and operational partners aboard both the FPSO and the rig.
He singled out the teams’ high standard of safety compliance, describing it as evidence of robust operational discipline and environmental stewardship within Ghana’s offshore petroleum industry.
“The FPSO and rig teams continue to maintain one of the highest levels of safety adherence in the industry, reflecting a strong culture of operational excellence, discipline, and care for personnel and the environment,” he said.
The Minister urged stakeholders and industry partners to stay focused, innovative and collaborative in efforts to extract greater value from Ghana’s petroleum resources.
He also reassured investors and operators of the government’s readiness to foster a favourable climate for continued investment, operational enhancements and increased oil production to maximise benefits for the people of Ghana.
