Dr. Bawumia predicted to win NPP presidential contest with 61% vote share - APL Analysis

The Africa Policy Lens (APL) has predicted that former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will triumph in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential contest on Saturday, January 31.

In its final analysis released on Tuesday, January 27, Dr. Bawumia is expected to secure 61% of the votes, followed by Kennedy Agyapong with 25.10%.

In third place is Dr. Bryan Acheampong, who is projected to garner 5.20%, while Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum and Kwabena Agyapong are forecasted to receive 0.10% and 0.30%, respectively.

The APL survey indicates that 0.29% of delegates have stated they will not cast their votes, and 8% remain undecided.

The survey encompassed 9,122 delegates from all constituencies and was conducted between December 8, 2025, and January 23, 2026.

The APL survey is the latest assessment suggesting that the former Vice President is likely to win the NPP presidential race.

Similarly, Global InfoAnalytics, in its final report released recently, has also predicted Dr. Bawumia will emerge victorious.
