Tamale Circuit Court jails pharmacy operator in illegal drugs case

Abdul Manan, proprietor of Manan Drugs Store at Zujung in Tamale, was arrested on Saturday, May 23, 2026 after officers recovered several quantities of restricted medicines at his premises.

He was arraigned before the Tamale Circuit Court on two counts: unlawful possession of restricted drugs and the unauthorised sale of controlled medicines.

In court, the accused admitted guilt to the charge of possession without permission but denied the allegation relating to the sale of the substances.

Following his plea, the court convicted him on the first count and remanded him into prison custody.

Proceedings on the remaining charge have been adjourned to June 16, 2026 for continuation.
