Vice President lands in Guyana for 60th Independence Anniversary celebration

Vice‑President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku‑Agyemang has arrived in Guyana to take part in events marking the nation’s 60th Independence Anniversary.

Prof. Opoku‑Agyemang was received on arrival by H.E. Nii Amasah Namoale, Ghana’s Ambassador to the Federative Republic of Brazil, and members of his diplomatic team, alongside Guyana’s Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Hon. Charles Ramson. 

A contingent of members from the Ghanaian community in Guyana also turned out to welcome the Vice‑President.

In brief remarks on arrival, the Vice‑President said she looked forward to joining Guyana’s government and people in commemorating the milestone and reaffirming the close ties between the two countries.
