Bole Wura praises Asiedu Nketiah for backing President Mahama

The Paramount Chief of the Bole Traditional Area, Bole Wura Sarfo Kutuge Feso, has commended the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, for what he described as his consistent and unwavering support for President John Dramani Mahama.

The chief, speaking through his spokesperson Tinga Wura Seidu Samson Abudu, made the remarks when Mr Asiedu Nketiah paid a courtesy call at the Bole Palace as part of his “Thank You Tour” of the Savannah Region on Friday, May 16.

He noted that although the Bole Wura would have preferred to receive the NDC Chairman personally, he was unavailable due to other engagements.

According to him, the chief expressed deep appreciation for the continued support shown to President Mahama, whom he described as a son of the Bole Traditional Area.

“When information got to the Paramount Chief that you were coming today with your people, he was really very excited. Unfortunately, for one or two other reasons, he is currently in Tamale and will be here tomorrow,” the spokesperson said.

He added that the chief had asked him to formally convey his gratitude to Mr Asiedu Nketiah for his support for President Mahama from the beginning of his political journey to the present.

“He wants to express appreciation and gratitude personally to you, National Chairman, for the wonderful support you have given to his son, His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, all the way from the beginning up to date,” he said.

The spokesperson, who is also the Savannah Regional representative on the Council of State, further stated that the Bole Wura believes Mr Asiedu Nketiah’s support has been instrumental in strengthening the President’s leadership.

He urged the NDC Chairman to continue supporting President Mahama in the implementation of his “reset agenda.”

“He believes that your support has really helped to raise him to where he has reached. He still pleads with you to continue to give him that support,” he added.

During the visit, Mr Asiedu Nketiah was presented with a smock and enskinned as Kaste Wura (Man of Truth) in recognition of his engagement with the traditional authority.

The NDC Chairman is currently touring the Savannah and Northern Regions as part of efforts to thank chiefs and supporters for their role in the party’s performance in the 2024 elections.
