Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo has reportedly passed away following a brief illness.
Reports of the actor’s death began circulating on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, and were later confirmed by his associate, Stanleyontop.
“It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Alex Ekubo, who died on Monday at a hospital in Lagos. His remains have been deposited at the morgue,” he stated.
Alex Ekubo rose to prominence as one of the recognizable faces in Nollywood, building an impressive filmography that spans romance, comedy, family drama, and action genres, earning him admiration from audiences across Africa.
He spent years entertaining fans through productions alongside some of the biggest names in African cinema.
Throughout his journey in the industry, Alex Ekubo shared the screen with several celebrated actors and actresses, including Jackie Appiah, Ramsey Nouah, Jim Iyke, Mercy Johnson, Ini Edo, Genevieve Nnaji, and Nse Ikpe-Etim, among others.
Some of the notable films he featured in include Lagos Cougars, Dream Walker, Weekend Getaway, Zero Hour, The Bling Lagosians, A Man for the Weekend, Royal Switch, Single Not Searching, Bad Comments, Fate of Alakada, and Broken Marriage.
