FDA reminds ban on turkey tails “Chofi” over high fat content

The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has reiterated the ban on turkey tails, popularly known as “Chofi,” citing their high fat content.

In a statement, the Authority noted that the product has been prohibited in Ghana since 1999 due to its extremely high fat levels and the associated health risks, including obesity, high cholesterol, and heart-related diseases.

The FDA emphasized that the ban is part of ongoing efforts to promote healthier dietary habits and safeguard public health.
